In 1940, 4565 Queen Mary Road was originally the RCAF No. 1 Wireless School. In 1945 this was replaced by the Montreal Military Hospital, later renamed as the Queen Mary Veterans Hospital in 1946. In 1977 it was transformed into the University Institute of Geriatrics of Montreal (IUGM) See: https://digital.library.mcgill.ca/hospitals/search/arch.php?id=590 Incidentally, for N.D.G. history buffs, the proposed but later cancelled veterans hospital planned for the corner of Sherbrooke St. West and Benny Avenue was to be named after Sir Arthur Currie.
