Who built this building? Who was the architect?
Whose face is sculpted multiple times on the facade of the building? Is it Demeter?
My grandfather Benjamin Blum and his brothers bought this building in 1920. They lived on First Avenue but owned a few other properties under their corporate name, BMH Realty. When their oldest brother arrived in America with his family he opened a dry goods store and lived in the apartment over the store.
