Was there a bodega there during the 40's?

171 E 101st Street, Manhattan

55 years ago I used to live in this building ¿Is 171 the original building from 1922 or was it demolished and rebuilt? The reason I ask is because l went back to visit about 25 years ago and the building was no longer there my brother says I must be nuts because this building was never demolished

2070 3rd AVE, Manhattan

I found my Grandmother's Citizenship papers from 1937. The address is 2070 3rd Avenue. I always knew my father grew up in East Harlem, 3rd & 112th street. I am looking for anything from that time period so I can see what the neighborhood looked like and where my father grew up. I saw a MapQuest picture of building, although it looks like modernized apartment building. Down the block, there appears to be an old maybe 6 floor walk up, that I imagine may have been what that building looked like back in the 1930's. If you have any additional information, I can be reached at dhanellin@yahoo.com. My fathers name was Nicholas Perrone.
