Hello, I am trying to find the specific area in Lachine identified as #3 St. Joseph Street, Lachine. In 1777, the Quebec Gazette described the property as previously owned by John Lewis Caragnant; it was a house with a vaulted cellar; it was bordered by Mr. Marchesseau on one side and the church burial ground wall on the other side. In the interest of his daughter, Ann Freeman/Dobie and her family, the property was a donation by Richard Dobie to his son-in-law, John Grant, Montreal merchant. The house later passed to Dobie's granddaughter, Ann Grant and her husband Samuel Gerrard who remained in the house until at least March, 1857. Any additional information will be tremendously appreciated. Does anyone know anything about Mr. Marchesseau? In advance, my sincere thanks! Anita Grant Steele
